Ezekiel 25:17.
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you!
Violent, innovative, and with fantastic dialogue, Pulp Fiction is one of the most influential American movies of the 1990s. Director and co-screenwriter Quentin Tarantino synthesized such seemingly disparate traditions as the serious violence of American gangster movies, crime movies, and films noirs mixed up with the wacky violence of cartoons, video games, and Japanese animation; and the fragmented story-telling structures of such experimental classics as Citizen Kane, Rashomon, and La jetée. The Oscar-winning script by Tarantino and Roger Avary features three stories, featuring Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta, in the role that relaunched his career, as hit men who have quick-fire interchanges on such topics as the French names for American fast food products; Bruce Willis as a boxer out of a 1940s B-movie; and such other stalwarts as Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Christopher Walken, Eric Stoltz, Ving Rhames, and Uma Thurman, whose Chuck Berry inspired dance sequence with Travolta proved an instant classic.
The dialogue is hilarious, constantly bringing up different popular culture references one way or the other, also unknowningly creating hilarious one-liners for decades to come. And the storyline of Pulp Fiction really does hold up throughout the ages just because the way it's represented is absolutely impossible to imitate. Pulp Fiction truly is a unique film in that perspective. But a film is always more than just the script. Even though the script is what drives the actors in their job and inspires the director to do his magic the right way, these people also must know what they're doing. And boy, they sure know what they're doing. The acting, as you can see from IMDB's cast list if you may, is provided by people who are all brilliant actors that have perfected their art over their long careers.
